Starting with the Eufy Camera Setup

Before you set up your Eufy camera, you need to search for the options for charging. This is to ensure that the recording never stops. You also need to make sure that the camera is charged. You can use a solar panel or a wall charger for the same. For the wall charger, connect the camera to the wall charger through a USB cable. If you want to use the solar charger, then you can install the solar panel outdoors in a location that receives sunlight for 3 to 4 hours continuously. Then connect the same with the camera through a USB cable.

Eufy Camera Setup Process

Start with unboxing the contents of the box and ensure you have the following items with you – Eufy camera, screws, wall anchors, 90 cm AC charging cable, mounting bracket, plug for the solar connection, micro-USB to type-c cable for solar power connection, quick start guide, and 24/7 monitoring sticker. When you have verified the checklist, you can start with the steps mentioned.

  • First, insert a Nano SIM card into your Eufy camera.
  • Power on the camera by plugging it into the wall charger for now. Then wait for the LED status on the same to appear. Once the LED starts flashing blue, it means that the camera is ready for the setup.
  • Now, start the Eufy security app on your smartphone and sign up for an account.
  • When you have created one, then you can log in to the same to proceed with the setup process.
  • Well, you can also add your Eufy camera to the app. This app will also let you know the instructions and scan the QR code on the screen through the camera to pair it with the app.
  • When the app is complete, you will see that the LED has turned off. This might confuse first-time users but it means that the camera is added to the app successfully.

Configuring the APN settings on your Eufy Camera

If you are not able to complete the setup process using the app, then first you need to update the APN information manually. You can also get in touch with your network service provider to get the SIM card APN information. When you have the information, you can follow the steps below to complete the APN process easily.

  • Select the APN configuration from the screen.
  • After that head to the devices option and then the Menu here. Then select the settings option and then select the camera settings button.
  • Finally, select the APN setting.

Now, add the APN details manually and save these details.

Troubleshooting issues with the Eufy Camera Setup

Eufy camera is offline and cannot connect to the network.

There are numerous reasons why your Eufy security setup will not be successful and will show as Eufy offline. Here are some things that you must keep in mind. 

  • Make sure that you are using the 4G SIM card that is used in your region. You can also refer to the 4G SIM card table in the requirement section to check if you are using the correct SIM or not. Make sure that you have a working data plan.
  • Also, hand the sync button on the camera for about 2 seconds to reactivate it. You can also restart the camera by pressing the sync button 5 times. 
  • Also, check the working status of the SIM card by using it on the smartphone. If you are not able to find any signals, choose another area that has a strong network.
  • Recheck the APN information that you are using.

Not able to scan the QR code

Following are the steps that you can follow if Eufy setup is not able to scan the QR code.

  • The first thing you can try is to move your phone screen closer and farther away from the Eufy camera lens. It will adjust the focus.
  • Also, adjust the brightness level of the smartphone display so that you can see the content. If you are in a direct sunlight area, then you must you must move towards the shade.
  • Also, clean your camera lens to make sure that there is no interference in the view.
  • You can also use different smartphones to install the app. Also, try again with the scan.
  • Make sure that the Eufy app version is updated.
  • Try and Reset the camera by constantly pressing the sync button for about 8 seconds. When you reset the camera, then you can try scanning the QR code after 30 seconds.

Not able to add a Eufy Camera to the App

If you are failing to add your camera to the Eufy smartphone app, then you can follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Make sure that you are holding the sync button for about 2 seconds. You will hear a beep sound from the camera. Well, if you do not hear any sound, and see that the LED is also turned off, then try to charge the camera and add the camera again.
  • After that press and hold the sync button for about 8 seconds and it will reset your camera. When you see that the process is complete, then you can try the Eufy camera setup process again.
